			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Augusta, Ga</strong>. – The Special Collections unit of the Augusta State University’s Reese Library will be open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., throughout the spring semester.</p>
<p>Special Collections maintains and preserves primary materials related to ASU, local history, the University System of Georgia, and selected genealogical sources.  In partnership with the Augusta Richmond County Historical Society, the unit maintains over 400 manuscripts, nearly 5,000 books, historical photographs, vertical files, and additional primary source materials for researchers.  Special Collections is open to the public.<span id="more-1355"></span></p>

<p>“We know that with parking at a premium during the week, being open on Saturdays will make it easier for our patrons to take advantage of our research facilities,” says John O’Shea, special collections librarian. “We hope our community users, our ASU students, and affiliates will take advantage of these additional hours.”</p>
<p>Special Collections maintains and preserves primary materials related to ASU, local history, the University System of Georgia, and selected genealogical sources.
