Augusta, Ga.- At the age of 38, Ronald Kruszewski took the helm of a then-regional brokerage and investment banking firm in 1997 and turned it from a $135 million company into one of the top firms in the nation with record 2009 revenue of $1.1 billion, its 14th consecutive year of record revenue. His success as the chairman and CEO of Stifel Financial Corp. and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc., earned him recognition as the 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year in the Financial Services category from Ernst and Young—an honor he shared with others in the company who have the same “entrepreneurial” spirit. Mr. Kruszewski will discuss his success and experience as Stifel’s chairman and CEO in the Hull College of Business’ MBA Executive Speaker Series Thursday, March 11, at 5:30 p.m. in 170 University Hall at Augusta State University. Augusta, Ga. – The Knox School of Accountancy in the Hull College of Business at Augusta State University will be dedicated in a ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 4 p.m. in the atrium of Allgood Hall.
Faculty in the Hull College recommended the school be established following a major gift from the Knox Foundation. The Knox gift of $2 million also provided an endowed chair in the accountancy program. The Peter S. Knox III endowed chair of accounting received approval from the University System of Georgia Board of Regents in November. Read the full story

The James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta State University has been chosen by The Princeton Review for inclusion in the 2009 edition of The Best 296 Colleges—the second consecutive year that the college has been included in the prestigious edition.
“We select schools for this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and offerings, institutional data we collect from the schools, and the candid opinions of students attending them who rate and report on their campus experiences at the schools,” says Robert Franek, Princeton Review vice president for publishing. “We are pleased to recommend Augusta State as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA,” he adds.
