ASU salutes America’s heroes


Augusta, Ga. – Augusta State University will honor men and women who have served in the armed forces at its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the D. Douglas Barnard, Jr., Amphitheatre.  Following the program, ASU’ s ROTC cadets will place American flags on the graves of fallen soldiers buried in the Arsenal Cemetery. Read the full story

ASU’s Academy for Learning presents UGA professor


Augusta, Ga. – The Academy for Learning, a new initiative to enhance teaching and learning at Augusta State, will present its first program for the spring semester with a presentation by Marguerite Koepke, Professor Emerita at the University of Georgia (UGA), on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 2:30 p.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Butler Meeting Room. Ms. Koepke will discuss the Governor’s Teaching Fellows program as well as the history of the development of the Teaching and Learning Center at UGA. Read the full story

Free concert and fireworks show


Augusta, Ga.-Augusta State University rocks for A Day with a concert and fireworks show on Friday, Oct. 3, in the D. Douglas Barnard, Jr., Amphitheatre. The concert, which features John Krueger and Blue Cotton, will kick off at 6 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m.

New need-based scholarship


Augusta, Ga. – A new need-based scholarship is being offered at Augusta State that provides full tuition and mandatory fees for four academic years.  Applications for the Regents’ Foundation Scholarship are available in the financial aid office and the deadline for application is October 6.

Eligibility requirements: must be incoming freshman for fall 2008; must be federal Pell Grant eligible; must be a resident of Georgia; must have a high school grade point average between 2.5 and 2.9; and cannot be Hope Scholarship eligible.

Applications are available in ASU’s Financial Aid office. Please call financial aid for further information, 706-737-1431.
