The Augusta Leading Economic Index (Augusta LEI) is a monthly composite index that combines several national, regional, and local indicators into a single variable. Leading indexes combine variables that change before business cycle variables such as employment changes. Leading indexes may, therefore, indicate changes that could occur in the economy. Leading indexes are not forecasts or predictions about the future, but may signify future economic activity. Read the full story

Be a part of A Day for ASU


The A Day for Augusta State University annual fund drive will begin with an A Day Volunteer Breakfast on Monday, Aug. 11; but the actual campus campaign will kick off on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Fall Convocation at 8:15 a.m. in the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. The campus and community chairs of the A Day campaign will participate in the program, introducing this year’s A Day theme: Ten Little Reasons That Make A Big Difference. Read the full story

Augusta State University Announces Major Gifts


Augusta, GA—The Knox Foundation has made a major gift to Augusta State University, announced President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., today at a news conference in the James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta State. The $2 million gift—the first major gift to ASU from the Knox Foundation—will support the accountancy program in the Hull College. It signals the continuing growth and prominence of the Hull College and enhances educational opportunities for students in the accountancy program. Read the full story
