A Day exceeds goal
The campus and community have rallied together to prove We have been. We are. We will be… a Jaguar Nation as the A Day for Augusta State University campaign exceeds its goal by more than $31,000. The overall goal was $555,000.
“We are extremely excited about not only reaching, but exceeding our goal. This campaign had its challenges; however, thanks to the campus and community support received, we were able to have a successful end to our campaign,” said Rhonda Banks, director of the annual fund.
The grand total of $586,194.95 was announced Oct. 12 at the annual Alumni and Friends Barbecue. The results of the annual fund drive, A Day for ASU, was shared with more than 1,000 university friends and supporters at the barbecue, which traditionally marks the end of the annual fund campaign.
“A special thank you goes out to our A Day campus and community chairs, Clint Bryant, David Alalof, and Sandra Carraway. Their hard work and dedication to the campaign and community has been greatly appreciated. We wouldn’t have exceeded our goal without them rallying the troops for such a worthy cause,” said Banks.
The campus campaign raised more than $140,000 with 47 departments giving 100 percent.
The private funding from the campaign provides additional resources to meet needs that cannot be met through state funding, such as scholarships, faculty development, and some academic support programs.
