ROTC cadets rated excellent
The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets at Augusta State University received a 100 percent pass rate and a rating of excellent at the culmination of their training at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington.
“Our cadets did extremely well and represented our university in an exceptional manner. We could not accomplish this without our tremendous faculty and staff,” said LT. Col. Keith Cantrell, chair of ASU’s Department of Military Science.
Fifty percent of the ASU cadets earned the distinction of Top 5 in Platoon, and 70 percent earned the ranking of excellent. The Top 5 in Platoon includes the best out of 40 cadets in a platoon size element. The cadets also ranked 90 percent in land navigation.
The 2012 United States Army Cadet Command, Leadership Development, and Assessment Course was completed by cadets from 270 ROTC programs across the country.
