Waggoner-Angleton named Special Collections archivist
Carol Waggoner-Angleton has been named the Special Collections librarian of the Reese Library, effective August 6.
Waggoner-Angleton has served Augusta State since 2005 as the Library Special Collections Assistant, offering history research clinics and reference assistance to researchers.
“She has an in-depth knowledge of the collection and has developed good working relations with faculty and students from several academic areas,” said Camilla Reid, director of Reese Library.
Waggoner-Angleton also worked to build relationships with the various cultural heritage organizations in the Augusta Area. Most notably, she has collaborated with other institutions for the fall’s Saving the Voices of Augusta’s Past lecture series and the Augusta Viewpoints: Understanding the Civil War reading and discussion program. She also has written and administered Georgia Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute for Museum and Library Services grants.
Waggoner-Angleton received a master of library and information science degree from the American Library Association accredited program at Valdosta State University in July 2012. She earned a postgraduate diploma in information and library studies from Aberystwyth University in Wales, U.K., in 2010. She also holds a Georgia Archives Institute certificate.
