Roosevelt Jackson, groundskeeper, has been recognized as the Physical Plant Employee of the Second Quarter.
Jackson, who joined Augusta State in 2006, expressed how shocked he was to learn he had received the award.
“I was surprised. When they told me about it, I couldn’t believe it. They told me it was due to my commitment. I really thank them for it,” he said. “I love what I do. I love keeping campus pretty for the students, and it feels great to do it.”
When not at work, Jackson enjoys going to church and relaxing with friends.
Employees of Physical Plant submit nominations for the honor, which are then reviewed by the supervisor of each division. Nominations are compiled, and the nominees are considered by all supervisors on the basis of their quality of work, job knowledge, attendance, dependability, cooperation, initiative, personality, fellowship, and attitude.
