Hopkins honored by First To Flight
Heather Hopkins, web developer in public relations and part-time instructor for the Division of Professional and Community Education, was recently recognized by soldiers enrolled in a Computer Skills for the Real World class. On the last day of class, the Ft. Gordon soldiers presented her with a plaque and a framed flag that flew in helicopter missions over Baghdad, Tikrit, Mozul, Basra, Syrian border, Northern Iraq (Kurdish region), Kuwait, Saddam Hussein’s primary palace, Green Zone, Crossed Sabers, Balad, and Taji from November 2009-November 2010.
“They made me cry like a baby. I am a relatively new instructor and having such a heartfelt affirmation of my ability was a wonderful surprise,” said Hopkins.
Removal of tree limbs and stumps
Bartlett Tree experts will be on the campus Thursday, Aug. 2, and Friday, Aug. 3, to remove several dead tree limbs and stumps. They will be working in the Grove area by the Maxwell Theatre and near the flag pole area. There will be loud noise and debris associated with this process. Contact Brittany Addison, physical plant, at bcaddison@aug.edu with any questions or concerns.
