ASU to honor Law Enforcement Officers
In honor of fallen police officers across the country, Augusta State will host a Memorial and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom.
During the ceremony, employees from ASU’s Office of Public Safety will be recognized for service, and awards of achievement will be presented. The guest speaker for the ceremony will be David Alalof, an alumnus of Augusta State and the president of the Shield Club of Augusta.
EIP and TAP deadlines
The deadline to turn in your application for the Employee Incentive Program (EIP) is Wednesday, May 30, by 4 p.m. EIP is available to any benefits-eligible employee of ASU with a work commitment of 50% or more and employment tenure of at least one year by the university’s first day of class on August 20, 2012.
Applications for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) must be submitted by 4 p.m. on July 13. To qualify for TAP, you must be a full-time employee of ASU, have been employed for six months, and be benefits eligible. For more information, call Human Resources at 706-737-1763.
GHSU Tech Fair
The ASU Center for Teaching and Learning is co-sponsoring the 10th Annual GHSU Tech Fair on Thursday, May 31, at the Greenblatt Library on GHSU’s campus. Presenters will cover the use of technology in teaching, including Why My Students Don’t Think I’m Groovy by Dr. Christy Pace at 11:45 a.m. To register for a seat in the keynote presentation by the May 25 deadline, go to georgiahealth.edu/techfair.
88 Keys Fundraiser
The Department of Music is honoring its commitment to foster excellence in education through a unique fundraiser called 88 Keys, which will enable them to acquire a new Steinway “D” Concert Grand piano.
Each of the 88 keys of a piano is assigned a dollar value. The piano keys are priced from $100 to $2,500. When purchased, the donor’s name will be placed on the piano key—or keys—of their choice.
