Nick Evans receives President’s Award
Nick W. Evans, Jr., a partner in ECP Benefits, received the highest honor given to supporters of the university, the President’s Award, at the annual President’s Club reception May 12. A 1972 alumnus and recipient of the 2003 Distinguished Alumnus Award, Evans has a long history of support for his alma mater. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association and currently serves as a trustee of the ASU Foundation. He also is a member of the Forest Hills Golf Club Management Team and the Birdie Club, a support organization for the university’s golf program.
Evans was one of the first golfers at Augusta College to receive an athletic scholarship, and his support for the golf program has been critical to its success. He was instrumental in establishing a women’s program, and he co-chaired the Campaign for Collegiate Golf, which established a practice facility and a collegiate golf house for the Division I teams.
In presenting the award, President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., cited Evans’ personal achievement, generosity to others, and community leadership. He has been a member of numerous civic organizations and is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. He previously served as president and CEO of Spartan Communications and was a partner of Associated Media Partners, a media brokerage and consulting firm.
Born in Augusta, Evans earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Augusta College.
