The Honorable Judge J. Wade Padgett presents Teenage Years- Advance Studies to ASU students during Week of Welcome. In his presentation, the superior court judge discussed what every college student should know about the legal aspects of sex, drugs, and technology.

Grad Celebration

WB fall convo

Dr. Bloodworth gives the State of the University address during the annual Fall Convocation which welcomes new and returning faculty and staff. The event also kicked off the A Day for Augusta State University annual fund drive.


A Day Kick Off

Katherine Sweeney, admissions and registrar, and Stacy Tallent, president of the Health Center Credit Union, address the more than 200 faculty and staff during the kick-off of the A Day for Augusta State fundraising campaign. Sweeney and Tallent are serving a two-year term as A Day campus and community chairs, respectively.



Fall Convocation

The annual Fall Convocation which welcomes new and returning faculty and staff was held in the D. Douglas Barnard, Jr., Amphitheatre.

Day of Service

ASU students give back during the Day of Service event hosted by the Office of Student Activities.

New Faculty Breakfast

Dr. Bloodworth gives the welcome during the New Faculty Breakfast. More than 30 new faculty members joined the Augusta State family.

Grant Presentation

Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs, presents Karen Aubrey, communications and professional writing; Steven Page, teacher education; and Chad Stephens, chemistry and physics, with the $1.1 million grant check from the National Science Foundation as Dr. Bloodworth, president; Robert Parham, dean of the Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts and Sciences; and Gordon Eisenman, dean of the College of Education applaud them for their work.

Art Exhibit

ASU students view artwork by guest artist Sandra Trujillo. Trujillo's solo exhibition, Churros Locos, will be on display in the Mary S. Byrd Art Gallery in Washington Hall until Sept. 23.

Birdie Club

Josh Gregory, athletics, receives the Coach of the Year award during the Birdie Club dinner which was held to recognize the men's golf team for winning the NCAA National Golf Championship.

City Celebration

Clint Bryant, athletics, congratulates Josh Gregory, men's golf team coach, and the golf team on their winning the NCAA National Golf Championship during the City Celebration at the Augusta Museum of History. The team was also given a proclamation from Augusta mayor, Deke Copenhaver.

City Celebration

Mayor Deke Copenhaver reads a proclamation that was awarded to ASU's men's golf team. The proclamation was part of a city-wide celebration which included a parade of golf carts from the municipal building to the Augusta Museum.

WOW Bingo

Cowboy Mike, history, anthropology, and philosophy, calls out the numbers at the annual Buffalo Bingo game sponsored by the Office of Student Activities. The bingo game was one of several events held during Week of Welcome.

Faculty and staff celebrate the culmination of the A Day campus campaign with the banner announcing the total. The campus campaign raised more than $160,000.
