Ed Tarver, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia,  gives remarks and words of inspiration during the Criminal Justice Advisory Board’s annual breakfast. This event was hosted by the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work.

Mitchell and Carson Simmons, a 6th grade student at Langford Middle School and 3rd grade student at Sue Reynolds Elementary School, respectively, were both awarded scholarships to attend Kids University, a day-camp hosted by Continuing Education, for one week in July.
The two students were nominated by Paulette Harris (l), director of ASU’s Literacy Center, for their hard work and motivation to read. The funds for this scholarship was received through an internal fundraiser conducted by the Reese Library.  Harold Benge, Literacy Center volunteer, and Camilla Reid, director of the Reese Library, are also photographed.

Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs,  discusses the university’s new strategic plan, called ASU in Action for Excellence, during the President’s Advisory Council.  These PAC meetings allow participating and other interested faculty, staff, and students the  opportunities to offer input on plans and directions for the university.

Departments and offices throughout the university exchanged unwanted for needed office supplies in the university’s first Office Supply Exchange Program on July 14. The exchange allows ASU departments a chance to locate and redistribute supplies that were ordered in incorrect quantities or by mistake, and are otherwise going unused.

Kathy Schofe, public relations, discusses the new initiative in the Office of Public Relations called Campus Communicators. The initiative will assist in keeping the campus and staff more informed and connected about news and research.
