Students in Rebecca Harper’s class on Advanced Issues in Writing Instruction perform the Waca Waca dance during the last class. The dance was video taped and uploaded to music artist Shakira’s website as part of the singer’s “Goal: Education for All” campaign.
Warren County middle and high school students get their first taste of college as part of a Summer Bridge Program hosted by the Department of Teacher Education. The 36 students experience life as college students by conducting DNA experiments, mapping out their future, and visiting ASU’s campus housing facility, University Village.
Lavern Felix, student activities, provides incoming students with information during orientation registration. Hundreds of students participate in summer orientations to register for classes, meet with advisors, and tour the campus prior to the fall semester.
The Literacy Center‘s annual Fun Fair provided activities along with an arts and crafts session for children. The Patchwork Players also presented stage productions featuring the Aesop’s Fables of The Boy who Cried Wolf, The Ant and The Grasshopper, and The Dog and the Bone.
Stacy Tallent, president of HCCU, and Katherine Sweeney, director of admissions and registrar, have been selected as the chairs for the annual A Day for Augusta State University campaign.
