The Department of Nursing hosts its first alumni reception in the Maxwell Alumni House. The event honored individuals who earned a degree in nursing from Augusta State.

Kimberly Gray, grants office, thanks faculty and staff for their support throughout the year at its annual Grants Office Luncheon.

Ralph Walker is recognized for his many years of service to the university at a retirement drop-in. Faculty, staff, and former students honored Dr. Walker for his hard work and dedication as a researcher and professor.

Members of the board of HOPE PLUS, Inc., were named recipients of Augusta State University’s 2010 President’s Award—the highest honor bestowed by the president in recognition of service, dedication, and leadership to the university. The award was presented at the annual President’s Club reception, which was held May 6 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson.

The Hull College of Business held its annual graduation reception to recognize business students who completed their degree requirements in the spring.

Eleven ROTC cadets receive their commission as 2nd Lieutenants in the U.S. Army. The annual commissioning ceremony was held on May 7 in the D. Douglas Barnard, Jr., Amphitheatre.

More than 55 nursing students completing the associate’s degree program in May receive their pins at the annual pinning ceremony at the Maxwell Theatre. The pinning ceremony ended with the traditional recitation of the Nightingale Pledge—an oath vowing that they will dedicate themselves to the nursing profession.

Dr. Bloodworth addresses the candidates for graduation during the annual Commencement Ceremony held May 8 at the James Brown Arena.

Ed Luckey, general manager of Mercedes-Benz of Augusta, presents ASU director of Golf and Head Men’s Golf Coach Josh Gregory with the keys to the 2010 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. President William A. Bloodworth, Jr.; Clint Bryant, director of athletics; and Kevin McPherson, head women’s golf coach, were on hand for the special announcement, along with members of the Jaguar men’s and women’s golf teams, Birdie Club members, university officials,  and local Mercedes-Benz dealership officials.
