March is Women’s History Month, and Augusta State will celebrate it with a variety of events, sponsored by the Women’s Studies program and student organization, beginning with a fundraiser for the CSRA Family Counseling Center from 10 a.m -2 p.m., March 2-3, in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Breezeway.
As part of the Monday Night Film series, the film Wendy and Lucy will be shown on Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. in 170 University Hall. The poignant film is about one woman’s attempt to overcome financial hardship.
An open house will be held March 11, in E227 Allgood Hall from 2:30-4 p.m. to acquaint visitors with the Women’s Studies program. Refreshments will be served.
Women’s Studies: Resources from Government Documents will be presented by Yadira Payne on Wednesday, March 17, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the JSAC Butler Room. The program will instruct attendees navigating government sites for Women’s Studies information.
Culminating the month-long observance will be a showing of the film The Joy Luck Club on Wednesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. in the JSAC Coffeehouse.
