Physical Plant Employee of the Year

There were four nominees listed, but it was custodian Georgia Dozier who was named the Physical Plant Employee of the Year during the department’s annual Christmas luncheon.

Ms. Dozier was chosen by her peers to receive this accolade, and she says she is very pleased to be named the winner. “It felt good to know that I was selected for the award,” says Ms. Dozier.

Therese Rosier, assistant vice president for Plant Operations, says Ms. Dozier is a great employee who is deserving of this recognition.
“Georgia is a hardworking lady with a great personality,” says Ms. Rosier. “She is a great asset to our department.”

After 21 years of service, Ms. Dozier retired in October of last year. However, she says she will always cherish the moments she had working at ASU. “I loved coming to work,” says Ms. Dozier.  “I enjoyed being around the staff, students, and faculty.”

In her leisure time, the Sandersville, Ga., native stays busy with several hobbies, such as traveling with her church, shopping, and cooking. She has two sons, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom play an important role in her life.
