Galloway Hall gets a facelift

Galloway Hall, the last building to be acquired in the transfer of Arsenal property to the university, will soon be getting a facelift. In April, Galloway Hall will undergo renovations to both the inside and outside of the building.

The renovations will accommodate a new Testing Center that will house 140 computers in what are now rooms 101 A and B. It will also include a new entryway from the loop road, new signage, and a new design that incorporates elements found in University and Science Halls as well as other buildings on campus. The building was designed by Studio 3 Design.

Testing and Disability Services will be moving into the building once renovations are completed. “We are thankful for our current facility, but our students and workers are beginning to get cramped,” says Ms. Kitchens, director of Testing and Disability Services. “We are very glad that now we will be able to offer our students a better environment for them to test in.”

To accommodate the construction, the division of Continuing Education will move to the Central Utilities Plant. It will not return to Galloway Hall.

It is too early to predict when renovations will be completed, says Fred Ricketson, campus architect.
