Charles Jackson, educational leadership, counseling, and special education, will present a study on the Issues Facing Augusta/Richmond County for 2010 during the Legislative Breakfast being held at the Peter S. Knox Conference Center this month.
The Journal of Philosophy and History of Education will publish the article Reconsidering Allan Bloom’s The Closing of the American Mind, written by Tom Deering, educational leadership, counseling, and special education, in its fall edition.
Wendy J. Turner, history, presented Emotional Indicators of Mental Conditions in Medieval English Administrative Records at the Georgia Medieval Group’s semi-annual meeting at Emory University. Dr. Turner is the founder of GMG and co-director of the state-wide medieval colloquium. She also is presenting a paper in October at the Texas Medieval Association’s annual meeting at the University of Texas at Austin titled Religion and Mental Disabilities in Medieval England.
In September, Paulette Harris, educational leadership, counseling, and special education, presented her research on International Literacy Day Strategies at Warren Road Elementary School. Dr. Harris also presented her study on Reading Strategies for High Schoolers at Glenn Hills High School. This month, she will make another presentation titled Research on Gifted for the Georgia Educational Research Association in Savannah, Ga.
Nabil Ibrahim, Hull College of Business, published The status of planning in small exporting firms: An empirical examination of manufacturing enterprises in the Journal of Academy of Business and Economics.
Dr. Ibrahim and Donald Howard, Hull College of Business, published two articles: Extent of director involvement in the strategic management process: Does occupational background make a difference? that appears in the Journal of Applied Business Research as well as Corporate social responsibility: A comparative analysis of perceptions of practicing accountants and accounting students in the Journal of Business Ethics.
