The May Commencement at Augusta State University will be met with a slight change in this year’s program—the commencement speech will be given by a graduating senior.
Christopher Goss, music major, will give the commencement speech to more than 1100 candidates for graduation on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. in the James Brown Arena.
Mr. Goss is the 2009 recipient of the Academic Recognition Day Scholar Award which is awarded to a student of high academic achievement selected to represent Augusta State in the University System of Georgia’s program where honorees are recognized by the state legislature. He was also named the first-ever student vice president for the university’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. A 2005 graduate of Augusta Christian, he plans to move to Nashville and pursue a career in the music industry.
