Faculty artists will now have a new place to call home. This past fall, construction began on converting the ROTC garage into art studios for ASU Department of Art faculty.
The new art studios, scheduled for completion on April 1, will replace the current studios, which are located throughout the campus, with one central location. The brand new space features a new roof, doors, and window as well as better lighting.
“The construction was an effort to move the studios closer to the art department and to give them a more modern type space and safer environment,” says Fred Ricketson, campus architect.
A few new and “Green” additions to the location are a ventilation system, an intrusion and fire alarm system, a new electrical system, and a state-of-the-art plumbing system.
“It’s like moving into a brand new house,” says Mr. Ricketson.
