Augusta, Ga. – Students in the Hull College of Business at Augusta State brought home high honors from a national leadership conference of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). Augusta, Ga. – For the love of tomatoes. Faculty and staff at Augusta State University will show off their green thumb during the 6th Annual Tomato Festival today, July 22, in E122 Allgood Hall. The home grown tomatoes will be judged based on five categories: best tasting dish prepared with fresh tomatoes, the biggest tomato, the prettiest and the ugliest, the best tasting slicing tomato, and the best tasting cherry or grape tomato. To help in this effort, Augusta State University’s Department of English and Foreign Languages is offering a new course titled Spanish Business Culture. Augusta, GA –The Augusta area receives a substantial economic benefit—$1.2 billion—from the presence of Augusta State University (ASU) and the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), according to a new study released by the University System of Georgia (USG). ASU’s impact of over $193 million and MCG’s impact of $1 billion are part of a $12.7 billion economic impact of the 35 institutions in Georgia’s public university system on the state’s economy during Fiscal Year 2009. The institutions of the University System of Georgia generated nearly three percent of the state’s total jobs during that time. Read the full story
