Augusta, Ga. – The Augusta State University Literacy Center‘s annual Fun Fair will be held on Wednesday, June 2, on ASU’s campus.
The activities will kick off in the Grove with an arts and crafts session for children from 9:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
The public may view the Patchwork Players as they present two stage productions featuring the Aesop’s Fables of The Boy who Cried Wolf, The Ant and The Grasshopper, and The Dog and the Bone. This event will be held in the Maxwell Theatre with the first show beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a final performance at 10:30 a.m. Read the full story

Augusta, Ga. – Actress Sandra Bullock recently joined the ranks of celebrities such as Madonna and Angelina Jolie in adopting African-American children. Their decisions to cross racial lines in adoption have experts and the public questioning the effects of transracial adoptions on these children. Although the law prohibits adoption decisions based solely on the race of the child or adoptive parents, questions remain; and an expert at Augusta State on transracial adoptions can address some of the concerns and issues. Augusta, Ga. – Members of the board of HOPE PLUS, Inc., have been named recipients of Augusta State University’s 2010 President’s Award—the highest honor bestowed by the president in recognition of service, dedication, and leadership to the university.
