ASU’s Commissioning Ceremony


Augusta, Ga.- ROTC cadets who have completed their degree requirements for graduation at Augusta State University will receive their commissions into the United States Army at a Commissioning ceremony on Friday, May 7, at 6 p.m. in the D. ASU hosts an iPlatform


Augusta, Ga. – With the iPad being the hottest new electronic gadget, colleges and universities have begun to look at ways to incorporate it into the educational process.

Augusta State University will host the presentation iPads in Education and Application Development on Wednesday, April 28, at 3 p.m. in 170 University Hall. Apple representative Andre Vlajik will be the guest speaker. Read the full story

ASU’s annual pinning ceremony


Augusta, GA. – Over 55 Augusta State University nursing students completing the associate’s degree program in May will receive their pins at the annual pinning ceremony being held by ASU’s Department of Nursing on Friday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at the Maxwell Theatre.
The pinning ceremony will end with the traditional recitation of the Nightingale Pledge—an oath vowing that they will dedicate themselves to the nursing profession. For more information, contact ASU’s Department of Nursing at 706-737-1725. Read the full story

First graders meet pen pals


Augusta, Ga. – Dear Pen Pal… First graders from Riverside and River Ridge Elementary Schools will meet their Augusta State pen pals on Monday, April 26, as part of the culmination of a pen pal project conducted by ASU students in the College of Education. The language arts curriculum class at ASU will visit Riverside Elementary at 11 a.m. and River Ridge Elementary at 12:10 p.m. Read the full story

History Day competition winners


Augusta, Ga. – A.R. Johnson Magnet School, Hephzibah High School and Episcopal Day School received top honors in the annual History Day competition at Augusta State University.
In the senior group performance, A.R. Johnson and Hephzibah High tied for first place. The team for A.R. Johnson included Ariel Duvall, Nick Brailer, Lindsey Johnson, Daquan Miller, Michael Scruggs, Jeeman Singh, Zach Huffman, and Chelsea Medeiros; and Hephzibah’s team included Jessica Enfinger, Nick Kersey, Alex Cooke, Lea Browning, and Amand Yowell.
