PSA- From Broadway to Walton Way


Augusta, Ga. – They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway, however, the lights at Augusta State will be a little brighter as actress Sandy Rosenberg talks about The Life of a Broadway Actress Tuesday, March 16, at 12:30 p.m. in a free presentation in 170 University Hall. Ms. Rosenberg, who will be performing at the Imperial Theatre in a production of Menopause the Musical, will be meeting with students and community members in the presentation, which will be followed by a question-answer session. ASU presents An Evening on Broadway II


From Sondheim’s hits through today’s blockbusters, including Les Miserables, The Producers, Wicked, The Light in the Piazza, and the Tony award-winning revival show, Hair! Experience the last 50 years of some of Broadway’s classics in the Augusta State University production of An Evening on Broadway II on Tuesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in ASU’s Maxwell Theatre. ASU to host Gospel Extravaganza


Augusta, Ga. – Get ready to clap your hands and stomp your feet as Augusta State University’s Black Student Union presents its annual Gospel Extravaganza on Sunday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m. in the Maxwell Theatre. Nelson retires from ASU after 17 years of service


Augusta, Ga. – Dr. William N. Nelson has retired as the director of Reese Library of Augusta State University, effective Feb. 1.  ASU held a reception in honor of his 17 years of service, leadership, and commitment to the leadership and the community.

Dr. Nelson has held leadership roles in the Georgia Library Association (GLA), Association of College & Research Libraries, American Library Association, Southeastern Library Association, and the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools. He has also served on the Regents Academic Committee on Libraries as well as GALILEO Georgia’s Virtual Library and GALILEO Interconnected Libraries committees. Read the full story

Former CFO to discuss rise and fall of company


Augusta, Ga. – Aaron Beam, Jr., co-founder and chief financial officer of HealthSouth, Inc., confessed to fraud, was imprisoned, and now will share his experiences with students at Augusta State University so that they can learn from his mistakes.  This free, public program in the Russell A. Blanchard Distinguished Lecture Series of the Hull College of Business will be presented Thursday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom at ASU. Read the full story
