ASU hosts Code Camp


Augusta Code Camp, a regional software developer event being hosted at ASU by the Hull College of Business and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, will be held on Saturday Nov. 7. Regional and national experts will provide software development sessions and demonstrations in multiple tracks. Admission is free, and registration is necessary. Quench your thirst for history

Technology’s effect on today’s youth

Children coping with deployment


Augusta, Ga. – Coping with the deployment of a loved one can be difficult. During this time of separation, the family must endure months filled with fear and stress, and it can be especially hard for a soldier’s children to cope with the absence of a parent.

On Friday, Oct. 16, Augusta State University’s Department of Psychology will present Alex Mabe, professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia, as he presents his research titled War and Children: Coping with Parental Deployment. Chamber ensemble combines theatre, music, and Latin culture


Augusta, Ga. – Tres Vidas, a program that combines theatre, music, and Latin culture, will be performed by the acclaimed chamber musicians, Core Ensemble, with special guest actress Georgina Corbo, on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Maxwell Theatre at Augusta State University as part of the Lyceum Series. The lives and times of three significant women: painter Frida Kahlo of Mexico, peasant activist Rufina Amaya of El Salvador, and poet Alfonsina Storni of Argentina will be portrayed through singing of traditional Mexican folk songs as well as Argentinean popular and tango songs.
