ASU’s music events in September
Augusta, Ga.- Augusta State University brings world renowned music to the Maxwell Theatre this month. For more information on the following events, contact ASU’s box office at 706-667-4100.
• The duo-piano team Drs. Martin David Jones and Clara Park will be featured in a two-piano recital, Two Pianos and Percussion, on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. During this event, the two ASU music professors will perform music by composers Leonard Bernstein and Claude Bolling. The program will also feature a new work for two pianos by Dr. Jones. Tickets are $5 for the general public.
• Students in ASU’s Department of Music will be in concert on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. This program will feature selected students performing various classical and modern compositions. Admission is free.
• ASU music professor Rob Foster and modern jazz quintet Pulsar take a journey into sound as they integrate Afro-Cuban rhythms with other world influences in a performance on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. Aside from the rhythm section, the performance will also feature electric guitarist Matthew Whittington. Tickets are $5 for the general public.
