Jags ready for prime time


Augusta, Ga. – The Augusta State men’s basketball program will be nationally featured as part of the NCAA’s college basketball package with CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV), according to a recent announcement from NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.

ASU’s Feb. 13 Homecoming matchup with Peach Belt Conference newcomer Montevallo in Christenberry Fieldhouse will be televised live at 12:00 p.m. Eastern. The contest is part of an eight-game regular-season men’s and women’s basketball package with CBS College Sports Network. The schedule features two Saturdays of women’s action, followed by four men’s games in consecutive weeks and then two more women’s games to wrap up the broadcast season. Read the full story

Week of Welcome


Augusta, Ga. – The campus at Augusta State University will be charged with excitement, fun, food, and games as new and returning students are welcomed to ASU for the fall semester. Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, the annual Week of Welcome will kick-off with What’s the Scoop? from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Breezeway with students learning about student and campus organizations and making ice cream sundaes. Liability and the web


Augusta, Ga. – Youtube.com has been known for its outrageous video footage which ranges from funny mishaps to music video clips to instructional videos. However, in at least one instance the website is being blamed for allowing harmful material to be published on its site. One video was recently imitated and resulted in a 13-year-old severely burning the lower portion of his body. Read the full story
