Augusta, Ga. – The rifled musket, Vietnam and the media, dogs of war, snipers, and African-Americans in the Civil War will be a few of the topics featured during It’s War X, on Thursday, April 30, from 1-3 p.m. in the Washington Hall Towers at Augusta State University.
The annual military history event showcases displays produced by Dr. Hubert van Tuyll’s military history class. For the past several years, the class has created displays that have covered various military conflicts and historical figures.

To show appreciation for the hard work of faculty and staff across campus, Augusta State will celebrate Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week, April 27- May 1. Highlighting the week will be a breakfast for those faculty and staff who will be honored at the annual recognition program for service anniversaries. Augusta, Ga. – Join Dr. Robert Parham, dean of ASU’s College of Arts and Sciences, as he presents his poetry on Thursday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Reese Library at Augusta State as part of the library’s Meet the Author series. Dr. Parham has published over 500 poems in periodicals and journals and his works have appeared in such publications as The Georgia Review, New York Quarterly, Hawaii Review, and Rolling Stone. Augusta, Ga. – A delegation of professors, administrators, and students from Mid Sweden University will visit Augusta State University from Monday, April 20, to Thursday, April 23, to experience the educational system of the United States.
The visiting delegation will also speak to education majors about the differences between Swedish and American classrooms. On Monday, April 20, the group will tour ASU’s campus at 10:30 a.m. Highlighting the delegation’s visit will be panel discussions, presentations, and a tour of ASU’s Arsenal Museum. Augusta, Ga. – Some of the community’s talented young artists will be featured in The Thrill of the Orchestra on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in Augusta State University’s Maxwell Theatre. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for non-ASU students and children. This event is free with a valid JagCard.
