The community campaign for A Day for Augusta State University will kick off with the President’s Club luncheon today, Sept. 16, at noon at the Augusta Country Club. Hosted by ASU President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., the annual event features an update on campus and kicks off the community campaign of the A Day for ASU annual fund drive. The community drive will be led by Mr. Phil Wahl, senior vice president, Wachovia. The event marks the end of the campus campaign of A Day, which has surpassed its goal. Read the full story

Which Constitutional amendment gives 18-year olds the right to vote? Students will have the opportunity at several events this week at Augusta State University to exercise that right and to learn more about the Constitution. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Sept. 16, 17, and 18, ASU students will Rock the Vote in voter registration drives in the Jaguar Student Activities Center—in time to meet the October deadline for registering to vote in the November presidential elections. The James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta State University—which was last year named by the Princeton Review as among the top business schools in the nation—has earned reaccreditation from the AACSB-International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
“We are delighted with the AACSB recommendation to award full reaccreditation to the Hull College of Business.” says Dr. Samuel Sullivan, vice president for academic affairs at Augusta State. “The Hull College faculty, under Dr. Marc Miller’s leadership, has done an outstanding job in maintaining the quality of its programs and in providing an exceptional learning environment for Hull students. Learning is life is the theme of the Arsenal Speaker Series hosted by Augusta State University’s chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Augusta, Ga. – Rather than a traditional gift to the nursing faculty at Augusta State University, the graduating students in the Nursing Class of 2008 honored them by raising more than $10,000 to endow a scholarship for future nursing students.
