Kevin McPherson, an assistant golf coach at the University of Central Florida, has been named the new head coach of the Augusta State women’s golf program.
ASU Director of Golf and Head Men’s Golf Coach Josh Gregory, along with Director of Athletics Clint Bryant, announced the appointment during a news conference in the J. Fleming Norvell Golf House.
“Kevin has all the tools we were looking for when we began our search,” says Mr. Gregory. “He’s proven himself as a recruiter, and he’s well rounded in all phases of the game. He knows how to play the game, and he’s experienced as an instructor as well. I think he’ll step right in and make a difference and build on the strong foundation that’s already in place within the program.”
A native of Conway, S.C., Mr. McPherson received his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Belmont Abbey College. He becomes the fourth head coach of the Lady Jaguars in the seven-year history of the program.
